Head of Design at Barclays
Rob Brown is the Head of Design for Barclays.
Rob was a key player in the development of the global design team for Barclays, growing the group from 9 designers working solely in the retail business in November 2012 to 67 designers working globally in every business unit, across all disciplines, in December 2013.
Through strong connections in the US financial-institutions market, Rob successfully integrated the various design teams around Barclays into a New York-based design organization working in Barclays’ investment bank business, continuing to mold an ever-expanding, capable global-design community. Work has already begun to replicate the same model in Johannesburg, South Africa, a dynamic that will support the ABSA business in J’Bourg as well as Barclays growing retail business throughout Africa.
Rob works across all design disciplines and business units, developing enterprises from apps to websites to physical products to new services and spaces–anything and everything that will “transform” not just the way people bank but more importantly, the way they live.
As a member of London’s Design Council, Rob is active in the design community recently participating in Design Council’s report “Leading Business by Design” and speaking at its accompanying event on how products, services and workplaces all create work environments for success.
