For over 15 years Sara has built and led high performance user experience design teams that understand customer behaviour and deliver award-winning user experience design solutions across desktop, tablet, mobile, kiosk, and interactive television platforms.
As Vice President of User Experience Design and Research at Walmart Labs Sara is responsible for the research programs, design strategy and execution of a global omnichannel retail user experience at scale. Currently she is focused on leading the design effort for a new commerce platform that combines the best of in-store and online features to deliver a breakthrough seamless shopping experience for Walmart customers in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Americas.
Before joining Walmart, Sara was the Senior Vice President and Creative Director for the User-Centered Design & Research group at Bank of America. Sara has held several leadership positions for creative agencies, and was the Executive Creative Director and Executive Director of an Internet Professional Services business unit for Organic. Before joining Organic, Sara was Vice President and Design Director for Ikonic Interactive. Over the past two decades, she’s worked directly with business leaders at Virgin Records, Sony, Gap.com, Macys.com, Microsoft, eBay, Home Depot, General Electric, Bank of America and Walmart.
Sara holds a B.F.A. in design from Pratt Institute, and an M.F.A. with a focus on interaction design from The Art Center College of Design. Sara is an industry leader, She presents talks on user experience strategy and design topics at industry conferences. She’s lectured at graduate-level design programs and taught workshops in user-centered design and the art of storytelling. She is currently a member of the Creative Good Council and a mentor for the CCA Design MBA program.
